Choosing the proper paint colors

Retail Store Painting

Retail Store Painting believes a store’s painting scheme can greatly impact a customer’s decision. Many professional painters recommend you consider the “type” of store you own, before deciding on a paint color. For example, a toy store may want to use primary colors, where a bank may want to use more neutral colors. Color experts say a store’s color will set the tone and mood. For example, a children’s store with dark colors is not painted for success. Dark colors represent a more serious mood, whereas a children’s store needs more of an exciting and fun atmosphere. Below you will see the necessary steps to take before choosing a paint color for your retail store.
Identify Your Industry
Research the most commonly used colors in your industry. For example, a baby store consists of light colors. This helps to give off the appearance of a nursery, So if you own a children’s store, you may want to stick to light colors. It is very important you do not try to create a completely new look. Doing so could create some confusion between you and your customer.

Painting Colors

If your store is already open, paint one wall and ask your customers what they think. First impressions are vital to the success of a retail store. So take their advice for all it’s worth. And never be afraid to receive feedback. Also, ask yourself what you think. If the color bothers you, change it.

Identify Your Target Audience

Are you targeting teens, adults, or kids? It is important you can answer these questions, as it will greatly impact your final decision. Teens prefer to shop in a fun and energetic store, whereas older adults prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. Two totally different atmospheres require two totally different paint colors.

Demographic Data

Market Research has determined different ethnic groups respond differently to various colors. This is why professional painters fully understand your store’s demographic data. Is your main audience Asian, or is it American? Once you can answer that question, choosing a paint scheme becomes that much easier.

Compliment Your Merchandise

How does your merchandise look on the shelves? What color will best compliment the look of your store? A large amount of colors might overwhelm your customers. So it is very important your store has a unified look. On the other hand, if your merchandise has a similar color, it is important the color of your wall has more of a contrastive appearance.
The steps listed above are only a few of many that will help you choose your painting colors for your retail store. Overall, it is important to ask yourself several questions before you make a decision. Who is your target audience? What kind of products do you sale? What does my demographic data look like? Once you can answer these questions, you will be halfway to a properly painted retail store.

Rug and Home Department store painting

Exterior Department Store Painting
Department Store Painting is just one of the many services we provide to the Retail Market. On this project we removed a banner that went around the entire top sign band of the building. Retail Store Painting has several employees that not only have a great amount of experience in commercial painting but also have a background in carpentry, masonry repairs, and remodeling. So in most cases, when you hire Retail Store Painting you can cut out the stress and costs associated with hiring several different contractors to complete your project.

Pressure Washing
The entire exterior of this building was pressure washed to remove any dirt, dust, loose paint and oxidation left behind from the sunlight and elements. Pressure Washing is an important part of a commercial painting project because no matter how good the paint job is if the paint does not properly adhere to the substate you will have a failing paint project every time.

Proper Prep work and Priming
This painting project had several different substrates the walls were block, the signboards were metal, the window frames were aluminum, there was steel steps and railings, and there was some wood that needed to be painted. Before we started painting we scraped anything loose, we solvent wiped the window frames, and spot primed any bare areas with the proper primer for each particular substrate. Performing the proper prep work, priming bare areas, and treating rust will not only protect your warranty, it will also add years of crisp clean looking paint and a problem free project.

Exterior Department Store Painting
Now that we finished our pressure washing, proper prep work, and priming, its time to apply the paint. Retail Store Painting is partners with all the major paint suppliers in the U.S. and we have technical reps on hand that know the products inside and out. We use the highest quality materials for each individual situation. On this commercial paint project we used DTM paint on all the metal surfaces and elastomeric waterproof coating on all the masonry surfaces. Elastomeric is a breathable waterproof coating that lets moisture escape while keeping water out of the masonry.

Textured Painting
Textured painting refers to the type of painting that uses paint and other materials such as sand, ribbon, metal, lace and wood. Textured painting stimulates different senses including site and touch. Art has four types of textures; simulated texture, invented texture, actual texture and abstract texture.
Textured painting may refer to how the painting looks like and how it feels when touched. It may be associated with heavy build up of paint, the impasto effect or the addition of materials.
It is possible to create visual effect of the texture without necessarily adding texture. One can create an interesting texture by adding alternate materials so as to create interesting texture. Invented texture is objective even though it may appear abstract.
Textured painting can be used to create a wood-grain appearance. Tools such as trowel may be handy when you want to attain the desired visual effect. One may also use special rollers to attain the desired effect. Retail Store Painting is a commercial painting contractor that specializes in all types of painting .

Textured Painting applications

If you are looking forward to updating the walls of your home, using textured paint makes it easy to achieve the desired results. It is inexpensive and will give your walls a new look. In modern houses, textured painting is used instead of wallpapers. It is the easiest way to cover imperfect and uneven walls. This is why it has become the most popular trend in home décor. There are many beautiful styles that have been invented as house owners attempt to do the project by themselves.
Textured painting comes with a few options. We have the premised form which contains gravel particles that looks grainy. This paint can be applied on ceilings because it is not easy for the ceilings to be closely scrutinized.
There is the variety that comes in a bucket. This paint is thick and smooth. It requires special application tools such as knives and trowels. Once the paint has been applied, it gives the walls a tucco appearance. Available in stores is an agent that can be applied to control the roughness and smoothness.
If you want to achieve the best textured look, it is recommended that you purchase high quality paint. You are free to choose between durable synthetic resin and flat finish latex. The latex paints are ideal on ceilings since they do not require a primer. They are durable and will easily cover the seams and make the wall dry.
If you want to obtain a high quality textured finish, you can use metallic finishes that are silver, copper and gold in colors. This is one of the options that will create a glossy and a shiny presence.
You can also use textured paint to create a faux finish. The most common ones include the marble, wood or stone. These materials easily add the required depth and texture. The technique may require that you use additional sponges, trowels and special rollers.
If you don’t know the paints that can give you the best textured results, visiting paint stores could be ideal.

Pressure Washing Contractors

If you have noticed that your commercial property looks like it has seen better days, then it is in your best interest to consider hiring a commercial pressure washing contractors like Retail Store Painting. This particular commercial painting contractors will make your facility look clean and tidy, while also removing the dirt and grime that could actually harm your property over time. Yet, hiring such a contractor will not merely prolong the lifespan of your property while dually making it look pleasant. There are also other benefits; let’s take a look at them.

Increases traffic
It does not matter how great a business’ customer service may be or what type of stellar products/services are offered: if a business looks grimy and dirty, you are not going to get a lot of new customers. Depending on your industry and the competitiveness among your competitors, you may not get any new customers for long stretches of time! Hiring Retail Store Painting will solve this. These professionals will bring their equipment to your facility, and will begin washing all the dirt and grime off of the exterior of the building to ensure that it sparkles and shines as it did in the past.
What will happen may shock you. You will have more customers arriving to your facility than normal. We all judge a business by its exterior. If it looks worse for wear – and especially if there is a competitor with a more positive looking building – expect most of your potential customers to go elsewhere.

Word of Mouth Marketing
Depending on how dirty and grimy your commercial property may appear, this could make it embarrassing for even your most loyal customers to tell their friends and family that they conduct business with you. By hiring pressure washing contractors like Retail Store Painting, you may actually see an increase in word-of-mouth marketing. No longer will people be wary about telling people about your business and how great it is. While this may sound fickle, it’s a byproduct of ‘being human.’

                                                         Minimize Exterior Problems

An exterior that is dirty and grimy does not simply look ugly – it can also be damaging to the commercial property as a whole. Hiring commercial pressure power washing contractors could actually minimize the problems you will face with your exterior in the future. Dirt, grime, and other items could cause your exterior to rot, look weathered, and generally be damaging to the overall exterior. Getting it power washed is the first step in prolonging the exterior of your commercial property, and could mean the difference between having a happy, healthy exterior for years to come and having to make expensive repairs earlier than usual.

Morale
Employees hate going to work at a building that looks run down and leaves a lot to be desired. Give your employees a reason to be proud to come to work every morning by hiring Retail Store Painting to give it the clean look that it deserves. Not only do your employees deserve it, but so do you!

Wall Paint Colors

Wall Paint Colors can affects our mood, our opinions and senses and their powerful and unusual influence releases emotions, encourages imagination and improves perception. There is no doubt that colors can inspire us, calm us and fill us with energy. Of course, sometimes they can make us feel upset and anxious. That’s why choosing the right wall paint colors for certain rooms plays a vital role in case we want to feel good while playing, working or resting. It is true that each individual has their own favorite spectrum of colors that makes them feel relaxed and comfortable, but it always a good idea to analyze the most commonly used colors and find out which color and shades will match your personality. Colors are linked to our emotionality, aesthetic preferences and they are often described as carriers of general and subjective symbols. According to the method of treatment known as chromotherapy some colors have therapeutic properties.

The perception of any space can be changed completely depending on the wall colors that can optically change the dimensions in that space making it deeper, narrower, bigger, smaller, wider, higher or lower. Colors add atmosphere to the rooms and by making combinations the space can be emphasized or “hidden”.

Many experts suggest leaving the ceilings in white color no matter what shade of white you will choose because the ceilings reflect the light most intensively and make the space higher. A ceiling that is painted in black or dark colors will significantly reduce the light and no matter how much lighting you add the space will produce an effect of a falling ceiling. A ceiling painted in some intensive color will “suffocate” the area.

The interior design can be divided into two basic styles – classic and modern. No matter what kind of interior design you choose, you must select adequate wall colors. For example, if you choose a classic design you should choose an “antique” color.

Light wall paint colors

This type of paint color is recommended in areas where there is not enough natural light and in smaller spaces. Simple white walls that can be seen after a regular painting leave a dull impression. On top of that, they can become dirty really easy and they are difficult to clean. That’s why if you want to have white walls, experts suggest choosing some shade of white color – crystal white or vanilla or white coffee shade. These colors contain elements that provide freshness and softness, they cannot become dirty easily and they are easy to clean.

R.S.P. Painting - Commercial Painters in PA. NY. NJ.

Dark wall paint colors

One of the major misconceptions is that dark wall paint colors reduce the space. Dark colors actually absorb light and that’s why you need to make sure to add adequate lighting if you are planning to paint your walls with darker colors. Dark colors are not recommended in small rooms, but keep in mind that there is always a room to paint at least one of the walls with darker colors. You can paint all other walls in lighter colors and use your favorite violet (for example) color on only one of the walls.
No matter if we choose one color to be dominant in the space or we decide to include several colors in our home, it is very important to keep a harmonic relation between the colors. Retail Store Painting has expert salespeople that can assist you in choosing colors that are right for you and we offer free estimates for all of our commercial painting services.
